The Transport Department has mandated all vehicle owners to update their mobile numbers with their vehicle registration by April 1 in Bihar’s Aurangabad district. Failure to comply will result in penalties, including fines and possible suspension of registration if caught during inspection.

District Transport Officer (DTO) Shailesh Kumar Das stated that the directive aims to enforce traffic regulations and streamline vehicle monitoring. Vehicles registered between April 1, 2014, and February 10, 2025, that have not yet linked a mobile number must do so before the deadline.

Updating the mobile number will facilitate better adherence to traffic rules, enable automatic fines for violations, and enhance online service access. It will also improve vehicle safety, assist in theft recovery, and simplify digital document verification.

Vehicle owners are advised to be cautious of cyber fraud while updating their details. The Transport Department has provided a QR code for secure and hassle-free registration updates.
