Uttar Pradesh News: A man from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife to pursue a relationship with his sister-in-law. Ankit Kumar is accused of conspiring with his friend, Sachin Kumar, to arrange a car accident for his wife, Kiran, as they had been unable to have children.
The incident claimed the life of 30-year-old Kiran, who suffered critical injuries and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Both Ankit and Sachin have been arrested and the vehicle involved in the incident has been confiscated by the police.

According to Senior Police Officer Bharat Sonkar, Ankit initially reported that Kiran died in a road accident on March 8. He claimed that while taking her from her parents' house to their own, a car ran over her as he stopped to refuel his motorcycle at a petrol station. Following his complaint, a case was registered and an investigation commenced.
Police reviewed CCTV footage and identified the car's owner as Sachin, a close friend of Ankit. During questioning, Ankit confessed to the plot, revealing that after five years of marriage without children, he desired to marry his sister-in-law. He had proposed to her, but she declined due to his existing marriage to Kiran, prompting him to plan her murder.

In a separate news, a man accused of attempting to rape and murdering a woman in Lucknow was killed in a police encounter on March 21. The accused, Ajay Dwivedi, and his brother Dinesh had allegedly tried to sexually assault the woman before strangling her in Malihabad on March 18. Dinesh was arrested on the morning of March 21, while Ajay was tracked down in the evening. When confronted, Ajay opened fire at the police, prompting retaliatory action in which he was shot. He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The police had announced a Rs 1 lakh reward for his arrest.
