Bihar: The revenue department in Bihar's Rohtas has received an application to grant a residential certificate in the name of a cat. The officials stated that the application has a cat picture in the image section, adding that while the applicant's father's name is Catty Boss, its mother's name is Catiya Devi. A case has been lodged at Nasriganj police station against unknown persons for misleading the officials. A probe has also been ordered into the matter, as similar incidents have been reported in the state in the past few weeks.

'Cat Kumar' applies for residential certificate

While providing details, the officials stated that the application had misleading details in all the sections of the form. The father and mother section of the application had similar names to Cat, and the picture section also had an image of Cat. Nasriganj Revenue Officer Kaushal Patel has registered a case against unknown persons at Nasriganj police station after receiving instructions from Rohtas DM Udita Singh. A probe has also been ordered into the matter after the miscreants allegedly tried to mislead the revenue department.

Similar incidents were reported in Bihar in the last few weeks during the SIR process as the officials received applications to make certificates for several animals, mostly dogs. Earlier last month, ‘Dogesh Babu' had applied for a residence certificate in Nawada. The application, dated July 29, has a picture of a furry dog, with parents named "dogesh ke papa" and "dogesh ki mummy".
