Bihar News:  In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion in the state, the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of seven key road development projects on Thursday. These projects include the construction of Railway Over Bridges (ROBs), bridges, and roads, marking a significant step towards improving the state's transportation network and reducing traffic woes for commuters.

Bihar: Chandwara Bridge To Soon Open For Public

The construction of Chandwara Bridge was completed three years ago, but traffic movement could not be started due to the lack of an approach road. Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of the approach road on both sides of the bridge. As soon as the construction on both approach roads is completed, the city will get relief from traffic congestion to a great extent. Commuters will be directly connected to NH-57 through this bridge, reducing the time and effort taken to reach Darbhanga.

Nitish Kumar Laid Foundation Stone Of Madpur Railway Overbridge

CM Nitish Kumar also laid the foundation stone for the construction of ROB on Madipur Power House Chowk road, which will facilitate entry and exit from Gobarsahi Chowk to the urban area, reducing the risk of accidents and pressure on NH-22. In addition, the 7.65 km long road from Chandni Chowk to Bakhri will also be widened. The road will be widened by 10-10 meters on both sides, and a 2.5 m divider will be constructed. Special box culverts have been provided for the drainage of rainwater. The widening of this road connecting Chandni Chowk to Bairia Golambar and New Zero Mile will make it easier to go to Motihari, Darbhanga and Sitamarhi.

Bridge To Be Built At Bhatgama Madhurpatti in Gaighat

The bridge, which is to be built at Bhatgama Madhurpatti in Gaighat at a cost of Rs. 24.28 crores, has been awaited for years. As many as 13 people died in a boat accident. The construction of this 174.24-meter-long RCC bridge will reduce the dependence on boats and reduce the risk of accidents.

The CM also laid the foundation stone for the widening of the Kanti to Raghaighat road. The width of this 9.70 km long road is currently seven meters, and it will be widened by 5.5-5.5 meters on both sides. There will also be a 0.5-meter divider. With the widening of this road, it will be easy for the people of the western region to go to Shivhar and Sitamarhi.

At the same time, widening of Shivhar-Meenapur-Kanti road will make it easier to go to Gopalganj, Darbhanga, Motihari, etc via NH-27. The width of the road is being increased from seven meters to 11 meters. There will also be a 1.25-meter divider.
