The district administration’s preparations for Bihar Day are in their final stage in Gaya. Officer Dr Tyagarajan SM stated that various departments will organise multiple programs to mark the occasion. On the 113th Bihar Foundation Day, March 22, school children will participate in the Run for Bihar at 7 AM, starting from Tower Chowk and ending at Gandhi Maidan Stadium via the Collectorate.
The DM has directed the Civil Surgeon to conduct a special rural cleanliness camp, including bleaching powder spraying in Mahadalit tolas across two or three panchayats in every block. Additionally, ASHA and Anganwadi workers will hold hand wash demonstrations in Mahadalit tolas of all panchayats.
The Education Department will organise quiz, essay, and painting competitions at the block level on topics such as alcohol prohibition, child marriage prevention, and dowry prohibition. The winners will compete at the district level, where the District Education Officer will award certificates to the top three students.
The Health Department will host a blood donation drive, while the Shravan Shruti program will take place at Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital. In celebration of Bihar Day, all government buildings will be illuminated with colorful, twinkling lights. DM Gaya has urged the general public and hotel operators to decorate their homes and shops as well.
To commemorate Bihar’s 113th Foundation Day, Jeevika will organise a rangoli-making event and cake-cutting ceremony at the Collectorate premises. Additionally, a Fancy Cricket Match will be held at the airport premises between the Airport 11 team and the District Administration Gaya team.
