Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: The Chief of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and Union Minister Chirag Paswan took a jibe at the Mahagathbandhan after the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party released a candidate list on 143 seats, some of which overlap with that of Congress.

Now Paswan has taken a jibe at the opposition alliance in Bihar, saying there are no "friendly fights" in politics and said the INDIA bloc has given a walkover to NDA on many seats.

Paswan said that he is a keen observer of politics, but he has never had such a big alliance on the verge of a split. He said, "But I have never seen an election where such a big alliance is on the verge of a split. There can be a dispute over the choice of seats, but they have not been able even to decide the number of seats."

Chirag Paswan's LJP is part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and is contesting on 29 seats in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

The Bihar Assembly elections, scheduled for November 6 and 11, and today, October 20, is the last date to file nominations for the second phase of polling. The Mahagathbandhan allies failed to reach a consensus on seat distribution, resulting in multiple candidates from the alliance contesting against each other in several constituencies.

"There is nothing called 'friendly fight'. Either you are friends or you are fighting against each other. If you are contesting polls against each and targeting each other's leaders, how can you expect this won't have an impact in other seats?" Paswan asked.

INDIA Bloc Seat-Sharing Formula

The Mahagathbandhan's seat-sharing arrangement is as follows: RJD (143), Congress (55), CPIML (20), CPI (6), CPM (4), and VIP (15). But the Congress has already announced candidates for 60 seats, resulting in an overlap of candidates between Congress and RJD on several seats.
