Bihar Election 2025: The schedule for the much-awaited Bihar assembly election is likely to be announced in the first week of October. With just a few weeks remaining in the polls, all the major political parties, including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, Janata Dal United (JDU), and newly formed Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraj, have commenced the seat-sharing talks and strategies. While caste is considered to be one of the deciding factors in the politics of Bihar, corruption has been a hot topic in the last few weeks.
Prashant Kishor has accused several prominent politicians, including Health Minister Mangal Pandey, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, and Ashok Choudhary, of corruption. The NDA leaders have also fired back by questioning the income and funding source of the Jan Suraj founder. While providing details of his funding source, Kishor asserted that he has earned money through consulting services in the past few years.
“Jan Suraaj Party’s funding is transparent and clean. I worked as a consultant and charged fees for my work. I earned Rs 241 crore in three years, paid Rs 31 crore as GST and Rs 20 crore as income tax, and donated Rs 98.5 crore to the Jan Suraaj Party through cheque,” Kishor told the reporters.
“I have not come to Bihar to make money. Every rupee I have earned is accounted for under government scrutiny. I will stay in Bihar for the next 10 years until the system changes,” he added. Apart from this, Kishor also stated that he will reveal the details of the benami property of JDU minister Ashok Choudhary if he does not withdraw a legal notice and issue a public apology.

Apart from caste equations, corruption and law and order have been major factors in the state's politics, as the fodder scam and alleged poor administration played a key role in the downfall of Lalu Yadav's politics.
