Bihar Election 2025: With just a few months remaining in the much-hyped Bihar assembly election, both the major alliances, the ruling NDA and the major opposition INDIA bloc, have started their campaigns. Apart from the major existing parties, including JDU, RJD, BJP, Congress, and CPI (M), the entry of Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj has spiced up the politics of Bihar. All three legislative seats of Jehanabad district are the centre of discussion as the candidates from across the parties have commenced the campaign and are claiming the ticket. While the RJD managed to secure victory on all three seats, Jehanabad, Ghosi, and Makhdumpur, in the 2020 state assembly election, the JDU is likely to change the candidates this time.

Jehanabad Seat: RJD secured victory in 2020

RJD candidate Kumar Krishna Mohan, alias Suday Yadav, won the election for the second consecutive time against JDU candidate Krishnanandan Prasad Verma. However, the NDA is expected to field a new candidate in the upcoming election to utilise the anti-incumbency against the current MLA.

JDU leader Niranjan Keshav Prince and HAM leader Channu Sharma have been active in the regional politics for the past few years, and one of them is likely to get the ticket from the ruling alliance. Sharma has been associated with the party since its formation in 2014 and has been active in panchayat politics for a long time. Niranjan Keshav Prince has been an active member of JDU for the past six years and is considered close to the top leaders of the party.

RJD to change candidate on Makhdumpur seat?

RJD's Satish Das managed to secure victory in the last polls; however, the Tejashwi Yadav-led party might consider changing the candidate in the upcoming election. RJD leader Sanju Kohli and Kumari Suman Siddharth are reportedly in the race to get the ticket. In the last assembly elections, RJD's Satish Kumar defeated HAM's Devendra Kumar by a margin of 22 thousand 565 votes.
