Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: With the announcement of the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into effect across the state. It is mandatory for everyone to follow it to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections. The state is witnessing a direct fight between the ruling alliance, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Mahagathbandhan. The Election Commission took charge of the state to conduct a fair election. With the effect of the MCC, certain things have changed, and the power of the politicians is curbed.

Here Are The Key Changes That Come With MCC Implementation:
- Under the provisions of the MCC, no minister will be able to use government facilities.
- Helicopters and government vehicles will not be used. Only private or rented vehicles will be allowed, which will be counted as election expenses during the election.

- Politicians' photos will be removed from government websites within 48 hours. Damaging property (such as wall writings, posters, and banners) will be prohibited.
- Under the Bihar Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1985, in Bihar, it is mandatory to remove political posters from government or public buildings or walls within 24-48 hours.
- New government schemes will be prohibited and government machinery will not be misused.
- Pre-certification will be mandatory for advertisements. Broadcasting and publishing without permission will be prohibited.
- Restrictions on inflammatory statements
- All parties and candidates must refrain from personal attacks, communal appeals, or activities that incite caste-based sentiments. Criticism must be limited to policies and programs.
- Government resources (such as vehicles, advertisements, and websites) will not be used for election campaigning. For example, photos of leaders will be removed from government websites. Damaging property (such as wall writings, posters, and banners) will be prohibited.
- Permission will be required for meetings and processions
- All parties and leaders will be required to obtain prior permission for meetings. No noise or traffic obstruction will be permitted. Educational institutions will not be used. The number of vehicles in processions will be limited (no more than 10).
- Prior notice must be given and police instructions must be followed. The use of loudspeakers will be limited to a limited time. There will be a complete ban 48 hours before voting.
- There - will be restrictions near polling stations.
- No campaigning or gatherings will be permitted within 100 meters of polling stations. Serving alcohol or providing transportation to voters is prohibited. Each candidate will be allowed a limited number of vehicles (1-3). Unauthorised vehicles may be confiscated. Cooperation with polling officials is mandatory.
