Bihar Election Phase 2: The campaigning for the second phase of voting in the ongoing Bihar Assembly Elections came to an end on Sunday evening, and voters now hold the fates of the candidates in their hands.

In the second phase, many big names will be at stake, including ministers, former ministers and two former deputy chief ministers.

Former Deputy CMs pitted on BJP ticket

The two former Deputy CMs in the fray are Renu Devi from Bettiah and former Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad from Katihar, both on the BJP ticket.

Ministers in fray 

There are also incumbent ministers contesting the elections in the second phase.

-Sumit Kumar Singh, who became a minister after winning the election as an independent candidate last time.

-Zama Khan, who became a minister after contesting the election on the BSP ticket from Chainpur.

-JDU's Jayant Raj from Amarpur.

-BJP's Nitish Mishra from Jhanjharpur.

-BJP's Narayan Prasad from Nautan.

-JDU's Sheela Mandal from Phulparas.

-JDU's Leshi Singh from Dhamdhaha.

Former state ministers 

Former state ministers are also contesting the elections in the second phase.

-Samir Kumar Mahaseth from Madhubani on an RJD ticket.

-Murari Prasad Gautam from Chenari on an LJP (RV) ticket.

-Bima Bharti from Rupauli on an RJD ticket.

Apart from former ministers, former Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary is also contesting the election. He is pitted by the RJD from the Sikandra seat.

Politicians' Relatives in fray

The second phase will also see relatives of politicians contesting the elections.

-Snehlata, wife of Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha, is contesting for the first time from the Sasaram seat

-Chetan Anand, son of former MP Anand Mohan, is contesting from Nabinagar on the JDU ticket

-Rahul Sharma, son of former Jehanabad MP Jagdish Sharma, is contesting from Jehanabad on the RJD ticket.

-Shreyasi Singh, daughter of former Jamui MP Digvijay Singh, is contesting again on a BJP ticket.

-Deepa Manjhi, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi's daughter-in-law is contesting from Imamganj on a HAM ticket

-Dr SmitaPurve, daughter-in-law of former minister Ramchandra Purve is contesting from Parihar on an RJD ticket.

-Jyoti Devi, Jitan Manjhi's sister-in-law is also contesting the elections from Barachatti.

Second phase voting on Nov 11

The first phase of polling for the Bihar elections concluded on November 6, with a record high voting percentage of over 65 per cent. The voting for the second phase of elections is scheduled to take place on November 11. The counting of votes will be held on November 14.
