Bihar Election Result: Days after registering a landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed senior Congress leader P Chidambaram for "blaming" voters for Mahagathbandhan's loss. While referring to his column in the Indian Express, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla stated that the Congress leaders were trying to protect Rahul Gandhi and were blaming voters for the loss. Poonawalla further stated that rather than introspection, Congress raised issues like "poll rigging" to mislead the voters. The Congress was limited to just six out of the 61 seats it contested in the Bihar polls, with its vote share going below 10 per cent.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Poonawalla claimed that the Congress leaders were delusional after the poll defeat. “Instead of doing introspection, Congress has once again chosen to defend it’s prince by blaming janta. P Chidambaram writes “it is responsibility of voters to bring them to power”. How entitled and delusional are these guys?” the BJP spokesperson stated in his post.

He further claimed that the former home minister insulted the voters of Bihar by questioning their priorities, adding that the grand old party has demeaned people after blaming the EVM and SIR of the electoral roll. “Blame EVM Blame SIR Now blame Bihar ki Janta, Don’t blame Rahul for 95 losses, Rahul can do no wrong, Janta is wrong ! Cong Insults Bihar again !” Poonawalla asserted.

The BJP leader also stated that even the allies of Congress had lost faith in Rahul Gandhi by claiming that the TMC wanted a new leader of opposition ahead of the winter session. “Now TMC before Parliament session wants INDI alliance leader to be changed- they have no confidence in Rahul Gandhi. When will Congress wake up and smell the coffee. Stop blaming EVM and SIR. Stop blaming Janta (like Chidambaram did). Fault lies in Rahul who has lost 95 elections. Congress = liability for INDI alliance partners,” Poonawalla asserted.

The regional party leaders have also criticised the state leadership of Congress, alleging that the key regional leaders were ignored during elections.
