Bihar Government voters of the age group carrying the family responsibilities play the most decisive role in shaping the new government. The largest share of voters comes from the 30-39 age group, followed by those between 40-49 years.
30-39 Age Group Voters
Voters aged 30-39, numbering 2,04,24,920, are generally occupied with organising their lives. On average, they influence four to five votes within their family, as decisions about the votes of their wife and parents also rest with them. When approached about elections, they raise their concerns collectively, according to the Jagran.com report.

Their foremost demand is quality education for their children. A significant portion of their limited income is spent on education, especially coaching after intermediate, which troubles them financially. They express that if quality education could be provided without the burden of costly coaching, it would bring great relief.
Alongside education, permanent housing emerges as a pressing issue. With soaring land prices in Bihar, fulfilling the dream of a home has become challenging. This age group strongly feels the need for housing schemes targeting the middle and lower middle class. In urban areas like Patna, many of them are dependent on small private sector jobs and remain anxious about the availability of government jobs. They emphasise the importance of expanding private enterprises to create fresh employment opportunities.
Second Age Group: 40-49 Age Group Voters
The second largest group, voters between 40-49 years of age, numbering 1,69,26,086, have broader concerns. At this stage of life, their focus is on stability in livelihood. Children’s future remains central, but they are less able to take risks. Added to this is the growing responsibility of caring for elderly parents. Consequently, their foremost demand is for ways to increase income and ensure financial security. During election discussions, this expectation dominates their concerns.
Meanwhile, voters aged 50-59, numbering 1,14,26,964, also form a significant section with concerns tied to family responsibilities and livelihood stability.
These age groups, carrying both the highest responsibilities and the largest numbers, thus remain the most crucial in deciding the direction of Bihar’s new government.
