Key Constituencies Bihar Elections 2025: With just a few days to go for the crucial voting in the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, all eyes on the key constituencies in the politically charged state. Of the total 243 assembly seats, these key constituencies are particularly influential in shaping Bihar's political landscape due to their unique social dynamics, caste politics, development issues, and local leadership. The political scenario in these constituencies directly impact the outcome of the assembly election, that's the reason, main parties in the electoral race focus on these key constituencies.
Here Are The List Of Hot Seats In Bihar Assembly Elections 2025:
Raghopur: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav aims at a hat-trick from the seat which has, in the past, sent his father Lalu Prasad Yadav and mother Rabri Devi to the assembly. Although the Yadav-dominated seat is not seen as much of a challenge for Tejashwi. Tejashwi Yadav is fighting against BJP candidate Satish Kumar Yadav and Jan Suraaj Party leader Chanchal Singh. Yadavs, Muslims, and some Extremely Backward Classes will play a crucial role in the constituency. Since, Tejashwi is a CM faced from the Mahagathbandhan, it would be interesting to see his performance in his family bastion.
Mahua: Situated adjacent to Raghopur, this seat in the Bihar Assembly elections, was won by Tejashwi Yadav's elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav in 2020. In five years, the party became convinced that the seat would be lost if the RJD supremo's elder son was fielded again. Hence, Tej Pratap was packed off to Hasanpur in Samastipur district in 2020, while Tejashwi's close aide Mukesh Kumar Roshan retained Mahua for the RJD. After being suspended from his own father's party in May, Tej Pratap restarted his political career with launching his own party - Janshakti Janta Dal. He is hopful to win the seat, but Tejashwi himself campaigned against his elder brother and appealed people to vote for RJD candidate Roshan. Indrajeet Prasad of Jan Suraaj, and the local LJP candidate Sanjay Kumar are also in the race.
Mokama: Mokama seat, a fiefdom of don turned politician Anant Singh, who is also known as 'Chhote Sarkar' has been in the news after murder of Jan Suraaj Party supporter Dularchand Yadav. Police arrested Anant and an FIR was resgistered against the Union Minister and JD-U leader, Lalan Singh, who was spotted making a provoking statement while campaigning for jailed party candidate Anant. Earlier, the RJD gave him the ticket in 2020 and to his wife in the by-poll two years later. But Neelam Devi defected to NDA last year, understandably with her husband's approval. Now, the RJD vowed to make things difficult for "Chhote Sarkar", by giving ticket to Veena Devi, wife of his rival Suraj Bhan Singh, another gangster turned politician who had wrested the seat from Anant Singh's elder brother Dilip in 2000.
Harnaut: This assembly seat is widely seen as Nitish Kumar's own though the chief minister has not contested an assembly election for 30 years. Kumar made his debut from the seat in 1985 and won it again in 1995, despite being the sitting MP from Barh. JD-U fielded Hari Narayan Singh, who is facing challenge from Congress' Arun Kumar.
Patna Sahib: Considered the most high-profile urban seat in the capital Patna, this constituency is witnessing a tough contest between Ratnesh Kushwaha of the BJP and Shashank Shekhar of the Congress.
Lakhisarai: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha (BJP) is contesting from the Lakhisarai seat against Suraj Kumar of Jan Suraaj. This seat is important because an interesting dynamic is unfolding between the BJP's traditional vote bank and the newly emerging young voters, who may shift towards Prashant Kishor's party. Congress' Amaresh Kumar made the contest a triangular.
Alinagar: Alinagar is another hot seat where the contest is between BJP leader Maithili singer Maithili Thakur and RJD candidate Binod Mishra. The election here is considered special from both a cultural and emotional perspective, as both candidates are directly engaging with the public on issues related to Mithila culture.
Chapra: Chapra seat of Saran district became a political heartbeat with anticipation a tough fight between RJD candidate and Bhojpuri singer Khesari Lal Yadav, and BJP's Chhoti Kumari, a new entrant, who replaced incumbent Dr CN Gupta.
Danapur: Danapur is another key constituency, which sees a direct fight between two prominent leaders from Yadav caste, RJD's Rit Lal Ray (Yadav) and BJP's Ram Kripal Yadav. Ray, whose has a criminal background, is contesting from the jail. On the other side, the saffron party backed its senior leader and former Union Minister Yadav.
