Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav has urged top officials of the power company to take swift action to improve service to consumers, considering the heat wave. Following his instructions, CMD Pankaj Pal conducted a review meeting at Vidyut Bhawan on Sunday, focusing on ensuring uninterrupted power supply in the PESU area. It was emphasised that any power shutdowns should be kept to a minimum, with prior assessment of ongoing projects and daily maintenance tasks.
The CMD also instructed that necessary shutdowns for project and maintenance work should be planned in advance and communicated through newspapers and official online platforms. Additionally, consumers should be alerted through miking, enabling them to prepare in advance, such as by collecting water.
The CMD further mentioned that each shutdown would be monitored by the concerned superintending engineer, and the presence of assistant or junior engineers at the site would be mandatory.
Timely SMS notifications will also be sent to consumers regarding power cuts. To ensure a consistent power supply, the performance of the PESU control room was also reviewed. Senior officials from South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited headquarters and PESU attended the meeting.
