The central government is set to allocate Rs 1,583 crore to Bihar under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, with the entire amount being provided as the central share. Additionally, a total provision of Rs 7,150 crore has been made for elementary education and Rs 766 crore for secondary education in the state.

In a move to enhance digital literacy, the central government has approved the promotion of computer education and skill development programs in government schools. As part of this new initiative, computer labs will be established in 3,443 elementary schools across Bihar.

According to the education department, the center will contribute Rs 3,632 crore toward the salaries of elementary teachers under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. The Ministry of Education has also sanctioned funds for school infrastructure development, with Rs 1,632 crore allocated for repairing school buildings, constructing additional classrooms, and building new facilities.

Funding under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan will cover 11 key areas, including teachers' salaries, training, gender equality, the Right to Education, and skill education. Furthermore, approximately Rs 1,456 crore has been proposed under the midday meal scheme to support student nutrition.
