Following the Rabi harvest, preparations for sunflower cultivation in Gopalganj district are in full swing. As part of the Garam Crop Campaign, sunflowers will be grown on 280 hectares of land, with the Agriculture Department setting targets for all 14 blocks and initiating groundwork. To support farmers, subsidised sunflower seeds are being provided, and farmer advisors are visiting villages to educate them on the benefits of sunflower farming.

The Agriculture Department is actively promoting Garam crops, including summer maize, moong, sesame, and sunflower, across the district. Due to rising farmer interest over the past few years, the department has expanded its cultivation targets.

Farmers will receive sunflower seeds at subsidised rates, ensuring timely planting. The Agriculture Department is distributing seeds as per demand, making sunflower cultivation more accessible.
