The Bihar government has taken a strict stance on delays in pension and end-of-service benefit disbursals, directing all departments to remain vigilant and ensure the timely processing of such cases. Fresh instructions have been issued to prevent pendency, following repeated complaints from retiring employees.
Every month, several state government employees retire, but many do not receive their pension or post-retirement benefits on time, forcing some to seek legal intervention. Concerned over the rising number of such cases, the government has intensified monitoring and accountability.

Departments have been ordered to conduct regular reviews, both at headquarters and regional levels, of all pending pension and end-of-service cases.
Officials have been told to coordinate with concerned offices and resolve matters promptly. Any officer found keeping cases pending for more than three months will face disciplinary action.

The government noted that prolonged delays not only damage its image but also create unnecessary administrative pressure. Reiterating its “zero pendency” policy, the department stressed that all pension and service-related claims must be settled with priority and that no negligence will be tolerated.
