The government is striving to ensure the prosperity of farmers through fish farming. In line with this effort, the Department of Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources has invited applications for the "Special Assistance Scheme for Pond Fisheries" (Talab Matsyaki Vishesh Sahayata Yojana).

Eligibility And Package Details

Under this scheme, special assistance is being provided to fish farmers belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Extremely Backward Classes (EBC). The grant is being offered as a comprehensive package assistance. This includes the construction of rearing ponds, installation of borewells, pump sets or submersible pumps, shed construction, mechanical aerators and fishery inputs.

Subsidy And Financials

Selected beneficiaries will receive a subsidy of 70 per cent. The fixed unit cost per acre of water area is Rs 10.10 lakh. Consequently, the beneficiary is required to bear only 30 per cent of the total amount.
