In a review meeting of the Panchayati Raj Department held via video conferencing on Wednesday, officials stressed the urgent completion of Panchayat Government Buildings across all Gram Panchayats in Bihar. So far, 1,635 such buildings have been completed. However, land acquisition issues persist in 269 panchayats. It was resolved that plots will be identified and villagers encouraged to donate land. In recognition, the meeting halls of such buildings will be named after the donors' ancestors.
The department also emphasised ensuring proper functioning of the e-Gram Kachahari system across panchayats for easy judicial case registration and resolution. Pending judicial matters and audit reports were reviewed, and district-level officers were directed to expedite approvals and fund utilisation under the 15th Finance Commission and the 6th State Finance Commission.
Under the Chief Minister Rural Solar Street Light Scheme, 6.23 lakh lights have been installed across villages. Officials were instructed to closely monitor their performance through a centralised system and ensure prompt repair of faulty units.
