These appointments will be made under the Bihar Education Administration Cadre. The AEDO post is considered an entry-level position, with scope for promotion to the role of Education Development Officer based on merit and service record.

Selected candidates will undergo a probation period of one year, which may be extended by an additional year if performance is deemed unsatisfactory. In cases where performance remains unsatisfactory during the extended probation, termination of service may follow.

Additionally, appointed officers will be required to clear a departmental examination, the format and syllabus of which will be set by the Revenue Council in consultation with the Education Department. Promotion eligibility and required years of service will be governed by rules set forth by the state government.
