Namma Metro Update: Chaotic scenes emerged from multiple key metro stations in Bengaluru after the commuters were seen waiting long for the trains on Monday. The commuters stated that the trains were operating at 10-minute intervals even in the office hours, leading to chaos and overcrowding. The travelers even expressed their frustration on social media platforms, stating that the metro authority was treating Monday like some holiday.

Several videos of passengers tirelessly waiting for trains on stations such as Majestic and Magadi Road emerged on the social media platforms. The commuters stated that the sudden change in frequency led to overcrowded trains and stations, adding that the mismanagement from the authority had created the chaos.

"Third class rogue bmrcl management and third grade governments are the reason for this. They only think about how to make money and how much fare can be increased. They don't care about people," one of the social media users stated. "@OfficialBMRCL won't even give a statement or a tweet about this crowding event. Their account is busy wishing for festivals. How often their officials even visit Majestic metro," the other one added.

While reacting to the reports, Bengaluru Central MP PC Mohan stated that reducing train frequency was "unacceptable", adding that BMRCL must plan better in these cases.

“Unacceptable mismanagement at Majestic Metro Station this morning. Reducing train frequency to 10 minutes during peak hours, assuming everyone has a holiday, created absolute chaos,” he posted on X. “BMRCL must plan better in such cases and restore normal frequency immediately,” PC Mohan stated in a post on X.

However, BMRCL, in its response, stated that four extra trains were operated from Baiyappanahalli to Majestic to provide relief to the commuters. It further stated that one train got short-terminated at Majestic and was sent back to ITPL.
