The new Bihar government is setting priorities to provide skill development training and create employment and self-employment opportunities for the state's youth. As part of this initiative, the work of developing 69 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into Centres of Excellence has been completed, where skill development training for young people will commence from next month.

The Labour Resources Department has instructed nodal officers to prepare an action plan for this purpose. Young people trained through the Centres of Excellence will be able to gain direct employment in industries, which will strengthen Bihar's skill development sector. The government aims to establish this facility in all ITIs soon, so that young people from both rural and urban areas can benefit equally.

According to an official from the Labour Resources Department, the main goal of skill development for the state's youth is to make them employable, create self-employment opportunities, and prepare them for the future workforce. Additionally, these schemes promote entrepreneurship among young people, teach new skills, and develop the ability to adapt to technological change.

The main objectives include:

* Increasing employability: Helping young people find jobs by providing them with industry-relevant skills. For this, a framework for Mega Skill Development Centres will be prepared at the district level.

*Promoting self-employment: Providing young people with the skills and encouragement to start their own businesses. Under this, arrangements will be made to provide training to young people at the block level.
