With the rise in healthcare facilities across Bihar, patient footfall in hospitals has also increased significantly, particularly in outpatient departments (OPDs), leading to frequent overcrowding. To address this issue, the Health Department has announced plans to enhance the existing queue management and display systems in hospitals to better manage patient flow and reduce congestion.

Under the new system, patients will receive a token number at the OPD registration counter, which will include the name of the attending doctor and a unique number. Patients will be required to wait for their turn based on this token. When their token number appears on the display board, they can proceed to the doctor’s chamber for consultation.

Furthermore, token numbers and related information will be displayed prominently at the nursing desks and medicine distribution counters. Additionally, the names and token numbers of doctors will be clearly shown outside their respective rooms to eliminate any confusion among patients.

This initiative aims to ensure timely delivery of OPD services, essential diagnostic tests, and medicines while streamlining crowd management in hospitals for a smoother and more efficient patient experience.
