The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has released a revised advertisement for the Second Inter-Level Combined Competitive Examination-2023, inviting online applications for appointments across various state departments and offices. With the addition of new requisitions, the total number of vacancies to be filled has now risen to 23,175.

According to the commission, requisitions for 10,976 posts were received from 65 departments on August 14, which have been added to the earlier announced 12,199 vacancies. The online application process will be open from October 15 to November 27, 2025, through the official website (https://bssc.bihar.gov.in).

The last date for fee submission is November 25. The commission clarified that candidates who had already applied under advertisement number 02/23 do not need to reapply.

Meanwhile, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), will conduct a nationwide essay writing competition as part of Vigilance Awareness Week, to be observed from October 27 to November 2.

The competition, themed “Vigilance: Our Understanding, Our Responsibility”, will be open to students from Classes 9 to 12. Essays, limited to 500-600 words, may be written in Hindi or English, with a duration of one hour. Original ideas and intellectual honesty will be given special emphasis.

Entries will be evaluated at three levels: school, regional, and national. The top three essays from each school will be uploaded on the CBSE portal and shortlisted at the regional level. From there, the best essays will be assessed nationally, with the top five entries forwarded to the CVC. Winners at the school level will also be honoured during Vigilance Awareness Week celebrations.
