Bihar Crime: A 33-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his home in Bihar's Muzaffarpur on Tuesday, triggering shock and grief in the local area. The deceased, identified as Baban Kumar, was discovered in a room of his residence with multiple injury marks on his body, raising strong suspicions of foul play.

According to the family members, Baban was allegedly murdered by his brother-in-law, who fled the scene shortly after the incident. The accused has been identified as Manish Kumar, a resident of Narsinghpur under the Sakra police station area.

Police officials reached the scene upon receiving information, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. "We have registered a case based on the family's statement. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the accused," a police official said.

According to the victim's family, the accused, Manish Kumar, had visited his in-laws' residence on Monday night, where he got into an argument with Baban Kumar. The matter appeared to settle afterward, and the family had dinner together before going to bed. However, the next morning, Baban was found dead in his room with multiple injury marks on his body, raising suspicions of murder.

According to the family of the deceased, Baban Kumar’s sister, Pooja, was married to Manish Kumar in 2015. The relationship was reportedly troubled due to Manish’s unemployment and repeated disputes over household expenses. Family members allege that Manish physically assaulted Pooja whenever she asked for financial support, and on one occasion, even attempted to kill her.

Pooja was brought back to her parental home by her brother following this incident. Despite repeated pressure from Manish for her to return, Baban refused. Police say preliminary reports indicate that this ongoing conflict may have led Manish to visit the house on Monday night, during which he allegedly murdered Baban and fled.
