A 15-year-old girl who disappeared from East Delhi’s Geeta Colony in September 2024 has been rescued from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, where she was allegedly held in isolation by her abductor. According to police, the girl was found two months pregnant and had been denied any contact with her family during the entire period.

The accused, identified as Anees Khan, a food vendor from the area was arrested during a police raid. Authorities said the girl went missing on September 18, 2024, and her family had immediately lodged a complaint with local police.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the girl had been in touch with Anees Khan prior to her disappearance. Khan had also gone missing the same day. His family revealed that he was married and had a child, and that his wife was five months pregnant at the time he vanished.

Police conducted multiple searches in Khan's hometown in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, but he remained untraceable. His mobile phone had been switched off since the day the girl went missing, making it difficult to track him.

Investigators then turned to social media and tracked three Instagram accounts linked to Khan. One of the accounts, created in February 2025, was registered with a mobile number that had since gone inactive. Another number, used to log into a related account, belonged to a person who reported that his phone had been stolen.

Using internet access logs, the police tracked Khan's movements through Shastri Nagar in Delhi, then Gujarat, and finally Madhya Pradesh. Witnesses in these areas recalled lending mobile hotspots to a man who matched Khan's description.

The key breakthrough came when a resident of Gwalior identified Khan from a photo circulated by the police. Acting on this lead, a police team raided the Hazari Bagh locality of Gwalior and successfully rescued the girl.

Officials confirmed that the girl was two months pregnant at the time of rescue. She had not been allowed to use a phone or contact anyone. Her mobile device had no SIM card, making it impossible for her to reach out for help.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are expected to file charges against Anees Khan under relevant sections of the law.
