Bihar Sampark Kranti Express narrowly escaped an accident on Monday after its engine and two bogies separated from other coaches and moved ahead. The train left Samastipur Junction at 09:55 AM. The incident occurred while the train was passing from Karpoori Gram station. The bogie began rolling backwards without the engine, causing concern among the passengers.

The loco pilot came to know about the situation right away. He promptly halted the train. He tested the link between the engine and the bogie. After that, the engine was linked to the bogie, and the train began to move. The train was halted at Pusa Station for inspection. This created a three-hour delay in train operations.

Vinay Srivastava, Divisional Railway Manager, stated that the Bihar Sampark Kranti Express accident occurred owing to a coupling breakdown. As a result, the train's operation was delayed by more than an hour. In this context, the Senior DSTE has been directed to investigate the entire incident.

According to the report, the accident occurred between Karpurigram Pusa station on the Samastipur-Muzaffarpur railway section. The train's engine and one bogie had gone forward, leaving the remaining bogies behind. According to reports, the connection broke, causing the train's engine and one axle to move forward for roughly 100 metres while the remaining bogies trailed behind. The loco pilot then applied the emergency brakes to bring the engine to a stop.

Train Number 12565 Bihar Sampark Kranti Express from Darbhanga to New Delhi left Samastipur Junction at 9:45 AM on Monday. After going past Karpurigram station, the train arrived just before Pusa station. The train's engine abruptly detached and ahead with a general coach. However, 19 bogies were left behind. When the bogie moving forward without the engine came to a halt, a huge number of passengers got down the train.

However, the train's loco pilot eventually reversed the engine and one bogie. The split bogies were rejoined, and the train headed to Pusa station. Railway staff verified the entire train's coupler.
