Bihar Election 2025: Amid an ongoing tussle among the Mahagathbandhan allies in the seat-sharing talks, the Congress released its fourth list of six candidates for the Bihar Assembly election. With the announcement of its fourth list, the party has announced candidates for a total of 60 seats. The Congress released its first list of candidates on October 16, naming 48 candidates. While the second list of Congress included one candidate, the third list included five. With just two weeks remaining in the voting for the first phase, the opposition alliance is yet to officially announce its seat-sharing formula.
Bihar Polls: Congress' Fourth List Details
The Congress has fielded Surendra Prasad Kushwaha from Valmiki Nagar, Abdur Rahman from Araria, Jalil Mastan from Aamro, Tauqeer Alam from Barari, Praveen Singh Kushwaha from Kahalgaon, and Vinod Chaudhary from Sikandra in its fourth list. While the grand old party announced its candidate from the Kahalgaon seat of Bhagalpur amid a claim by Lalu Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), too.

Congress state president Rajesh Ram asserted that the seat-sharing talks are in the final stage, further stating that the opposition alliance will emerge victorious. Earlier on Saturday, Congress released its second list of candidates, adding five more names to the 48 announced in the first list of candidates. In the second list for the Bihar Assembly elections, the Congress announced candidates for five constituencies, including Narkatiaganj, Kishanganj, Kasba, Purnia, and Gaya Town.
The Mahagathbandhan was unable to officially finalise the seat-sharing agreement for the first phase of the Bihar elections, with the nomination deadline ending on Friday. The deadline to file nominations for the first phase of the Bihar elections was October 17, Friday, while for the second phase, it is October 20. While the polling for the election will be held on November 6 and 11, the final results will be announced on November 14.
