Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Rashtriya Janata Dal Leader Tejashwi Yadav will start ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ on Sunday against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Bihar voter list. 

The Voter Rights Yatra will embark on a journey from Sasaram and traverse through 25 districts in Bihar, culminating in Patna. The yatra, which will span 16 days, aims to engage with the public and garner support for the Mahagathbandhan.

Key Highlights About Rahul-Tejashwi’s Yatra

- The yatra will commence on a specific date and conclude on September 1 with a rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

- The primary objective of the yatra is to reach out to the people, understand their concerns, and promote the Mahagathbandhan's agenda.

- Prominent leaders from the Mahagathbandhan, including CPI(ML) General Secretary Deepankar Bhattacharya, will participate in the yatra.

- Rahul Gandhi will spend approximately 13 days in Bihar during the yatra, marking a significant presence in the state.

- The yatra will cover over 1,300 kilometres, passing through various districts in southern and northern Bihar.

ECI’s Press Conference

The Election Commission of India is set to address a press conference on Sunday amid allegations of ‘Vote Chori’. Experts anticipate that ECI might address the allegations. This is ECI’s first press conference post Bihar SIR.
