Patna Businessman Murder: Bihar's law and order situation seems to have derailed ahead of the state assembly elections as another businessman was shot dead outside his home in Patna. Police said a 50-year-old man involved in the sand mining business was shot dead in the Ranitalab area of rural Patna on Thursday. The shocking murder comes days after renowned industrialist Gopal Khemka was shot dead outside his home near iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on July 4.
According to police, the deceased was identified as a sand mining businessman, Ramkant Yadav. He was attacked by unidentified armed assailants near his residence in Dhana village.

"Yadav was shot at by some unidentified persons at Dhana village on Thursday afternoon. Police reached the spot and took him to the nearest government hospital, where he was declared brought dead," he added.
"The exact motive behind the murder is not known. Yet, we suspect personal enmity or business rivalry. The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation is underway. We have launched a manhunt to identify and arrest the assailants," he asserted.
Congress Among First To Attack Govt Over Law And Order
Soon after the news of the murder of the businessman spread, the Congress responded by attacking the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government, which is already under fire over the deteriorating law and order post the Khemka murder case. The grand old party slammed the government, highlighting a "worsening law and order situation" in Bihar.
Congress Legislature Party leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan said yet another businessman in Bihar was killed near his residence which showed the reality of the law and order situation in the state.
