The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced a month-long special voter list revision campaign, set to begin across Bihar from August 2 to September 1, 2025. Following the publication of the draft electoral roll for the upcoming assembly elections on August 1, special camps will be organised daily at the offices of Executive Officers in all block offices and urban local bodies, including Nagar Panchayats, Nagar Parishads, and Nagar Nigams.
These camps will operate seven days a week, from 10 AM to 5 PM, providing citizens an opportunity to file claims and objections related to the draft voter list.
Eligible citizens whose names are missing from the draft list or those who have turned 18 years old by July 1, 2025, can apply for inclusion by submitting Form-6 along with the necessary declaration and documents. Existing voters seeking correction or transfer of names can fill out Form-8, while those raising objections against bogus or incorrect entries can submit Form-7. Applicants from outside Bihar must attach a declaration form with Form-8.
To ensure accessibility, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will collect forms directly from senior citizens and persons with disabilities who are unable to visit the camps.
At the end of each day, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) will be responsible for organising the received applications assembly-wise and booth-wise and submitting them to the concerned officers for further processing. Every applicant will be given a formal acknowledgement receipt for their submission. Required documents and photographs can also be submitted during this period.

To ensure the smooth functioning of the camps, the ECI has directed all Block Development Officers (BDOs) to deploy at least two staff members, including a computer operator, at each site. Wide publicity campaigns will be conducted, and district-level reports will be compiled. A press note will be issued by the District Election Officer to inform the public.
Local political party representatives and elected public officials will be notified about the camps. For security, the District Magistrates and SPs/SSPs have been asked to deploy an adequate police force. Additionally, photographs and videos of each camp will be documented.
