The Election Commission on Friday published the first draft of the revised electoral rolls after the special intensive revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar.
During the exercise, the poll body didn't receive enumeration forms (EFs) of 65.64 lakh voters whose names have not been included in the draft. The EC said that on June 24, 2025, the number of electors in the state was 7.89 crores, but it received only 7.24 crores EFs.
However, the election commission has give a one month period, starting from August 1, for individuals and political parties to get the names added of those who have been left in the exercise.
District-wise number of voter removed
-According to the latest draft, Patna saw the highest number of 3.95 lakh voters not included in the revised poll rolls. In Patna, EC received 46.51 EFs as compared to 50.47 lakh electors on June 24.

-In Araria, there were 20.82 lakh voters out of which EC received EFs from 19.24 lakh, leaving 1.58 lakh names.
-In Purnia, 19.94 lakh EFs were submitted out of 22.68 lakh voters. 2.74 lakh names were omitted from the news list.
-In Siwan, 23.67 lakh EFs were received by the EC out of 26.09 lakh electors. This led to the removal of 3.42 lakh voters.
-In Begusarai, the names of 1.68 lakh electors were removed as the poll body received EFs of 20.77 lakh voters out of a total of 22.45 lakh in June 2024.
-In Darbhanga, the EC received EFs of only 27.99 lakh electors out of 30.03 lakh, leading to the omission of the names of 2.04 lakh voters.
-In Gaya, 2.46 lakh voters were removed from the first draft after only 29.01 lakh forms were received by the EC out of 31.47 lakh.
-In Sitamarhi, 2.45 lakh names were left out of the electoral rolls after the EC got only 23.82 lakh EFs out of 26.27 lakh.
-In East Champaran, 3 lakh voters didn't submit the EFs and were accordingly not included in the draft. Similar number of voters were removed from the first draft in Gopalganj and Madhubani.
