In light of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Bihar, the Police Headquarters has placed all districts in the state on high alert and issued directives for heightened vigilance. Instructions have been given to intensify surveillance and ensure round-the-clock patrolling, particularly in border districts adjacent to Nepal and Bangladesh.

Enhanced security measures have also been implemented at key tourist destinations such as Patna, Bodh Gaya, and Rajgir. Airports in Patna and Darbhanga have been asked to step up their security protocols. According to sources, Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar conducted a detailed review of the state’s security preparedness during a two-hour video conference with Superintendents of Police from border districts on Wednesday.

The Police Headquarters will directly monitor the situation in these districts to ensure full compliance with security directives. Separately, it has been confirmed that the body of Manish Ranjan, a Rohtas native who lost his life in the Pahalgam terrorist attack, will not be brought to Bihar. His last rites are expected to take place in Purulia, West Bengal.

DGP Vinay Kumar informed the media that Manish was serving as an Inspector in the Central Excise Department, stationed in South India. His in-laws reside in Purulia, and no close relatives are currently living in Rohtas.
