Block-level program implementation committees across Bihar will now hold regular meetings to review the progress of various urban and rural development schemes. The Cabinet Secretariat has issued directives for these committees, formed at the beginning of this month in all districts, to convene every two months.
The meetings will focus on reviewing schemes operating in both urban and rural areas. The state government is implementing several key programs, including 'Mahila Samvad', 'Aapka Shahar Aapki Baat', and 'Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Samagra Seva Abhiyan'. District in-charge ministers have been instructed to conduct at least three reviews of these programs in their respective districts by August.
The committees, already established, consist of a president, a vice-president, and 13 members. Meetings will be held bi-monthly in all 534 blocks. The government has also directed the provision of office space for the president and vice-president, either within the block office or another suitable building.
Clerical and support staff will be provided from existing block office personnel. Financial provisions include a daily allowance of Rs 200 and travel allowance of Rs 50 for participating government members (except MPs and MLAs). The president and vice-president will receive a monthly hospitality allowance of Rs 500.
