The Bihar Education Department has launched a structured website to swiftly address issues faced by teachers across the state. Through the e-Shiksha Kosh portal, teachers can now file complaints using their individual logins. In this regard, the department has issued an official directive to all District Education Officers (DEOs).
In a letter written by Additional Chief Secretary Dr. S. Siddharth, DEOs have been reminded that several mechanisms are already in place for grievance redressal, including the Janata Darbar held every Saturday at district and block levels. These were designed to resolve teachers’ concerns locally.
However, many teachers continue to escalate their unresolved issues to the Command and Control Center at the state headquarters, which then redirects them back to the respective DEOs for resolution.
Due to delays or lack of local resolution, a growing number of teachers are approaching the state office directly, at times accompanied by their families, to seek intervention from senior officials. This not only creates inconvenience for the teachers but also hampers administrative functioning at the headquarters.
With the launch of this new structured system, complaints will be accessible in real-time to the DEO, Directors of Primary and Secondary Education, the Director of the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, and the Additional Chief Secretary. However, complaints related to corruption will be viewable only by the Directors and the Additional Chief Secretary to ensure sensitive handling.
