In a major push to promote clean energy, the Bihar government is set to launch a dedicated single-window clearance system within the Energy Department for new and renewable energy projects. This new system will streamline all approvals required for such projects, which until now were routed only through the Industry Department.

As part of the New and Renewable Energy Promotion Policy 2025, the state is also preparing to implement renewable energy projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The Energy Department will invite private companies to develop pump storage schemes in the solar energy sector.

The government will ensure necessary infrastructure support, including electricity connections, water sources, and road access. The policy also emphasises skill development and employment generation for local youth, especially in rural and semi-urban regions.

To attract investment, the state will offer stamp duty and registration fee exemptions to companies entering the renewable energy space, easing their initial financial load.
