The Bihar Tourism Department is set to develop tourist centers around the state's major reservoirs and ponds. These locations will be equipped with recreational facilities, attracting tourists and boosting local tourism.

The department has initiated a plan and requested all districts to identify suitable reservoirs and ponds, specifically those with at least one acre of adjacent government land and road connectivity.

Tourism Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh has written to all District Magistrates, instructing them to identify such water bodies. The department has provided a district-wise list of over 604 ponds and reservoirs exceeding five acres to aid in the selection process.
