Bihar Election 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday published the final voter list of poll-bound Bihar after concluding the controversial Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The data suggests that while the Magadh region witnessed the highest voter addition rate, the Seemanchal region recorded the highest voter deletion rate. The final list published by the poll body contains the names of 7.42 crore voters, 47 lakh less than the 7.89 crore names before the SIR process. While criticising the process, the opposition parties claimed that the poll body tried to delete the voters of marginalised section; however, the EC stated that the revision was not unconstitutional and was necessary for transparent elections.
Magadh witnesses the highest voter addition rate
- The data suggests that the seven districts of Magadh recorded an average voter increase of 2.6 per cent.
- The capital city Patna recorded the highest voter addition (3.4 per cent), almost 1.6 lakh new voters.
