The Meteorological Centre, Patna, has forecast scattered rainfall with thunderstorms at some places across Bihar, accompanied by cloudy skies in most regions. The active effect of the monsoon is expected to be seen around August 21.

For now, weather conditions will largely remain normal, with cloudy skies prevailing over the next 24 hours. Strong winds and drizzle may occur at isolated places. Temperatures across most districts are expected to stay above normal, causing humid conditions that will persist even at night.

On Sunday, Patna witnessed bright sunshine during the day, followed by cloudy skies and sporadic showers in the evening. The city recorded 0.2 mm of rain, while Bankuthpur in Gopalganj received the highest at 29.6 mm in the last 24 hours. 

Other notable rainfall figures include 11.8 mm in Puranhiya (Sheohar), 6.6 mm in Thawe (Gopalganj), 4.0 mm in Tilauthu (Rohtas), 3.4 mm in Sheikhpura, and 2.8 mm in Masrakh (Saran). Light showers were also reported in several districts, including Munger, Sitamarhi, Siwan, Madhubani, Araria, Darbhanga, Bhabua, and Nawada.

A yellow alert has been issued for 16 districts, warning of thunderstorms and lightning activity.
