Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain with thunder and lightning in 19 districts on Thursday. Meanwhile, other districts of the state, including Patna, are expected to experience normal heat due to above-normal temperatures. A maximum rainfall of 60.0 mm was recorded at Rafiganj in Aurangabad during the last 24 hours.

Apart from Patna, several other districts, including Kaimoor, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Gayaji, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj, are also likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days.

The Meteorological Department forecasts rainfall across the state until October 2, after which weather conditions are expected to gradually improve.

Bihar States Forecast

Sept 27: Thunderstorms/lightning and strong winds (30-40 kmph) likely at one or two places in the central and eastern parts of the state.

Sept 28: Thunderstorms/lightning and strong winds (30-40 kmph) likely at one or two places in most districts of the state.

Sept 29: Heavy rainfall likely at one or two places in Kishanganj, Nawada, Banka, and Katihar districts.

Sept 30: Thunderstorms/lightning and strong winds (30-40 kmph) likely at one or two places in the central and eastern parts of the state.

Oct 1: Thunderstorms/lightning and strong winds (30-40 kmph) likely at one or two places in most districts of the state.

Rainfall And Temperature Update In Major Cities

Recent rainfall was recorded across several cities, with Gurua in Gayaji receiving 53.4 mm, Madanpur in Aurangabad 50.4 mm, Danapur in Patna 41.6 mm, Jehanabad 38.6 mm, Kinjar in Arwal 31.2 mm, and Jiradei in Siwan 25 mm. Other areas included Makhdumpur (22.2 mm), Charpokhari (19.8 mm), Piro (18.4 mm), Dulhin Bazar (16.2 mm), Kutumba (15.4 mm), Brahmapur (15.4 mm), and Husainganj (15 mm).

Maximum and minimum temperatures recorded were: Patna 34.6/27.6 Degree Celsius, Gayaji 33.8/24.6 Degree Celsius, Bhagalpur 35.2/28.1 Degree Celsius, and Muzaffarpur 33.8/28.1 Degree Celsius.

River Overflow  

The Gandak River’s erosion worsened in Siswa village, Bettiah, on Wednesday, submerging nearly six houses and putting several others at risk. Villagers have evacuated to safer areas. Meanwhile, the Ganga River is causing land erosion in Vaishali district, where one house in Ganiyari Tola, Sahadei, Desari, was washed away this week.
