Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that while the temperature is likely to surge in several districts of Bihar, including Patna, multiple districts are also expected to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that the maximum temperature in Patna is likely to increase by two to four degrees Celsius in the upcoming few days. It further stated that multiple districts are likely to witness rainfall, along with gusty winds and thunderstorms. The IMD has advised the residents of these regions to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that the temperature in the capital city, Patna, is likely to increase by three to four degrees Celsius in the next few days. It added that the temperature will increase in the other nearby districts too; however, several other districts, including Araria and Kishanganj, are likely to receive light rainfall till June 10. The weather department emphasised that multiple districts are expected to receive heavy rain, along with gusty winds and thunderstorms, after June 10.

The IMD stated that the northern and eastern districts of the state are likely to witness heavy rain, further advising the farmers to limit their outings during the rainfall. A yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms in these regions with a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour. The weather department stated that districts such as Khagaria, Nawada, Nalanda, Samastipur, Begusarai, Jamui, Patna, Vaishali, West Champaran, Bhagalpur, and Munger witnessed rainfall in the last 24 hours.

Earlier on Saturday, the IMD stated that apart from Bihar, several other states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, are expected to receive rainfall for the next few days. However, it also mentioned that the temperature is likely to increase in the northern states like Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab.
