Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday stated that several districts of Bihar are likely to receive light to heavy rain till June 28. The weather department stated that 23 districts are expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds for the next four to five days. It further informed that the rain is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. While the rain is expected to boost the crop's growth, the farmers are advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Patna, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Saharsa, Khagaria, Purnia, Supaul, Araria, Katihar, Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, and Munger, are expected to receive light to heavy rain in the upcoming few days. It added that these districts are also likely to witness gusty winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph, accompanied by lightning.

The IMD stated that the residents of these districts will witness cloudy skies for the next two days. It further stated that wind is also expected to blow at a speed of 40-60 kmph in these districts. The weather department further stated that there is a possibility of thunder and lightning in the western parts of the state in the next 24 hours.

The IMD further stated that several regions of Bihar received heavy rain in the last 24 hours. While providing details, it informed that while Imamganj in Gaya received the highest rainfall at 108.4 mm, the Buxar district received 78.2 mm of rainfall. The weather department further stated that Darbhanga witnessed 45.2 mm of rainfall, adding that Patna experienced 42.2 mm of rain along with thunderstorms and gusty winds.

Apart from this, several other states, including Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal, are also likely to witness rainfall in the upcoming few days.
