The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has registered an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) former health ministers Saurabh Bhardwaj and Satyendra Jain, in connection with large-scale corruption in health infrastructure projects of the Delhi Government.

The case was registered after receiving approval from the competent authority under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act., news agency ANI reported.

A complaint was filed on August 22, 2024, by the then LoP and current Delhi Assembly Speaker, Vijender Gupta, highlighting grave irregularities and suspected corruption in various health infrastructure projects, alleging systematic manipulation of project budgets, misuse of public funds, and collusion with private contractors.

Earlier this month, AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain were summoned by the ACB for questioning in alleged corruption linked with the construction of classrooms across government schools in the national capital.

Jain, who held the Power, Health, Irrigation and Urban Development departments in the erstwhile Kejriwal’s government, was asked to appear before the ACB on June 6. Sisodia, who was deputy CM in Delhi, besides helming multiple portfolios, was summoned to the ACB office on June 9.

The ACB had on April 30 filed a case against the AAP leaders in alleged corruption to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore in the construction of 12,748 classrooms during AAP’s tenure.
