Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several districts of Bihar are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next three days. The weather department stated that apart from heavy rainfall, multiple districts are also expected to witness strong surface winds and lightning. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. However, the IMD also clarified that some regions of the state are also likely to witness heat for the next few days. It also advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that a cyclonic circulation is active over eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, leading to rainfall in multiple districts, including Patna. The IMD stated that several districts, including Patna, Bhojpur, Purnia, Araria, and Madhepura, are likely to witness rainfall for the next two to three days. The continuous rainfall in Patna has led to waterlogging in several key areas, leading to slow vehicular movement.

It also emphasised that the maximum temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours. While Patna received 40.6 mm of rain in the past 24 hours, Raghunathpur in Siwan recorded the highest rainfall at 92.6 mm.

The IMD has advised the farmers to follow the guidelines and not hide beneath any electricity pole or big tree during the rainfall. It also stated that several other states, including Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam, and Odisha, are also expected to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days.
