India national cricket team vs Pakistan national cricket team match, Asia Cup 2025: Things haven't been easy for Haris Rauf ever since he was hit for that iconic six by Virat Kohli during the thrilling India vs Pakistan clash in the T20 World Cup 2022 at the famous MCG.
During the Super Fours fixture between the arch-rivals in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai on Sunday, Indian fans teased Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf with chants of ‘Virat Kohli’. Even though Kohli was not playing in the Super 4s match, fans used his reference to tease Rauf.
Kohli had played a memorable match-winning knock against Pakistan in the T20 WC on October 23, 2022, hitting Haris for two incredible sixes. The clip of fans chanting Kohli’s name when Rauf was fielding near the boundary ropes is now going viral on the internet. Rauf reacted to the chants by asking fans to raise their voices.

In the match against India, Rauf bowled four overs and picked up 2 wickets for 26 runs. His impressive show with the ball, however, went in vain as Pakistan suffered a defeat by six wickets. For India, Abhishek Sharma was the star performer with a match-winning fifty as he scored 74 runs from 39 balls in the 172-run chase, and his opening partner, Shubman Gill, scored 47 runs from 28 balls.

During his stay at the crease, Sharma hammered six fours and five sixes, and Gill smacked 8 fours. India chased down the 172-run target in just 18.5 overs. Tilak Varma, on the other hand, remained unbeaten on 30 runs from 19 balls.
Rauf also got involved in a heated exchange with Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. The right-arm pacer was also seen engaging with the Indian cricket team fans with the controversial 6-0 gesture. Several videos and pictures of Rauf making a 6-0 gesture to Indian fans while fielding near the boundary ropes are going viral on the internet.
Notably, the 6-0 is a reference to Pakistan’s baseless claims that they downed six Indian fighter jets during the four-day scuffle following Operation Sindoor. Pakistani players were reportedly shouting the same gesture during their practice session ahead of the India clash.
India have maintained their winning streak in the ongoing tournament, and this was their seventh successive win over the arch-rivals Pakistan across formats over the past few years.
