The last day of Chhath Puja, a major Hindu festival in Bihar, was marked by cold weather as the temperature dropped in many cities across the state. People had to wear warm clothes in the morning to cope with the rising weather, but the weather became warmer by afternoon.

The cold weather added some difficulty to the devotees during the four-day Chhath Puja which is celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm in the state. The meteorological department said that there was no possibility of rain in the state at present, but the temperature might fall further in the coming days.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) Patna, the minimum and maximum temperatures in Patna were 19.4 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius respectively on Monday. Similar temperatures were recorded in other major districts such as Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur and Gaya where residents experienced cold weather in the morning.
