The abusive remarks against PM Modi from a stage of Rahul Gandhi's Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar's Darbhanga have given ammunition to the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.

The BJP has made it a big political issue and changed the tag line of the posters put up at the NDA meeting in the Purnia Sadar Assembly constituency.

In this conference, organised in the city's Kala Bhavan on Friday, the attraction of most of the posters put up in the premises, along with the main stage, was its main slogan 'Ma Ka Apman, NahinSahega Hindustan'. (India will not tolerate the insult).

In fact, the issue was a key mention in the speeches of all prominent ruling coalition leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan alias Lallan Singh, JDU National Working President Sanjay Jha, and Bihar Government Minister Leshi Singh.

During the conference, Union Minister Lallan Singh slammed Rahul Gandhi and RJD's Tejashwi Yadav and questioned of political integrity.

According to a report by Jagran.com, the political observers also have an opinion that the issue has suddenly weakened the effect of Gandhi and Yadav's unified efforts in the yatra.

A complaint has also been filed against Gandhi and Yadav over the issue. Reacting to it, Advocate Anil Kumar Singh said, "A complaint has been filed against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, and hundreds of Congress and RJD workers for making derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during a voter rights rally in Darbhanga... This is very disheartening, considering the high constitutional positions held by both... Till now, no apology has been issued by Rahul Gandhi or Tejashwi Yadav, indicating a deliberate attempt to spoil the state's atmosphere... The case is scheduled for a hearing on September 11, 2025."
