BJP-Congress Workers Clash: Bihar's capital city, Patna, turned a battleground after workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress clashed during a protest against the abuses hurled against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother in Darbhanga. The videos that emerged from Patna on Friday show a dramatic fight with sticks and stones-pelting in the presence of police personnel outside the gate of the Congress office at the heart of the city.

The lawlessness was at its peak during the protest as policemen did not stop the BJP workers when they broke the gate of the Congress office and entered the premises, prompting Congress workers to retaliate. Soon after, filmy scenes unfolded as they engaged in an ugly clash with sticks.

One Arrested For Derogatory Remarks Made Against PM Modi, His Mother

Meanwhile, SP City Ashok Kumar Chaudhary said a case has been registered, and an accused arrested. "The person is identifying himself as Raja. Action will be taken against those found involved," he added.

BJP Files FIR Over 'Abuses' Hurled At PM's late Mother

Earlier on Thursday, the BJP a delegation of the state BJP filed a complaint at the Kotwali police station in Patna, asserting that the Congress-led INDIA bloc will be "punished" by the people in the upcoming assembly polls for insulting late mother of the PM.

The saffron party alleged that abuses were hurled at the late mother of PM Modi and his late mother during Rahul Gandhi's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Darbhanga town.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said, "The behaviour of the crowds was characteristic of the RJD's hooliganism. And the Congress puts up with rowdy behaviour in its blind quest for power".

"There has been tremendous anger among party workers who have burnt an effigy of Rahul and Tejashwi. We are also gathering evidence and look forward to lodging another FIR," said Aditya Narayan Jha 'Manna', the BJP's district unit chief in Darbhanga.
