Clear signs of a weather change have appeared just before Chhath 2025. Mist has started forming in the mornings, with its effects being observed from urban to rural areas.

Visibility was significantly reduced due to the mist. As a result, vehicles traveling on the National Highway were seen with their lights on. Motorcyclists also faced difficulties while commuting.

The mist gradually cleared after 8:00 am. Inside homes, people are still sleeping with fans on due to a feeling of warmth. However, upon stepping outside in the morning, people experienced a feeling of cold.

Elderly individuals out for morning walks reported feeling cold because of the mist. Senior meteorologist Dr A Sattar explained that there is currently high moisture content in the atmosphere. The morning mist was attributed to easterly winds blowing during the night.

He stated that similar conditions will occur on subsequent mornings whenever easterly winds blow at night, adding that this will happen intermittently. Dr. Sattar also mentioned that temperatures will now gradually decrease. On Friday, the maximum daytime temperature was recorded at 33.1 degrees Celsius, which is 2.1 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was 21 degrees Celsius.

Forecast: Cloudy Skies, Dry Weather Expected During Chhath Period

Looking ahead at the next four to five days in North Bihar (covering the Chhath Puja period), the sky is expected to be cloudy. The weather will remain dry during this time.

The maximum temperature is likely to stay between 30-32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be around 21-22 degrees Celsius. During the forecast period, westerly winds are expected for the next one to two days at an average speed of 2-3 km per hour, followed by easterly winds.

Advisory For Farmers

The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory for farmers. Given the forecast of dry weather, farmers are advised to prioritise and attempt to complete the harvesting and threshing of paddy crops.

Priority should also be given to sowing Rabi crops such as mustard (Rai), lentils (Masur), sunflower, garlic, autumn sugarcane, peas, and kidney beans (Rajma). Farmers should perform necessary weeding and hoeing in vegetable crops and regularly inspect them for pests and diseases.
