Train operations were severely disrupted on Saturday due to an ongoing protest in the Dhanbad railway division of Jharkhand. The protest has forced the cancellation, diversion, and early termination of several key trains connecting Bihar and Jharkhand, causing significant inconvenience for passengers.

Cancelled Services

The Danapur railway division announced the cancellation of the following trains passing through the affected area on September 20:

- 53348 (Barwadih–Gomo)

- 53357 (Gomo–Barwadih)

- 13331 (Dhanbad–Patna)

- 53339 (Chandrapura–Dhanbad)

- 63542 (Gomo–Asansol)

- 53323 (Sindri Town–Dhanbad)

Diversions And Short Terminations

To manage the situation, many long-distance trains have been rerouted via the Gaya–Kiul–Asansol or Asansol–JasidihKiul routes, which may lead to longer journey times. Affected services include train numbers 18310, 13152, 12260, 12988, 12382, 13554, 12019, 22303 and 09438.

Additionally, several trains are being "short-terminated," ending their journeys before their scheduled destinations:

- 13305 (Dhanbad–Samastipur) will now terminate at Gomo.

- 13348 (Patna–Barkakana) will now terminate at Tori.

- 13513 (Asansol–Hatia) will now terminate at Hazaribagh Road.

- 13553 (Asansol–Varanasi) will terminate on the central railway section.

- 12365 (Patna–Ranchi) will now terminate at Koderma.

- 22349 Vande Bharat (Patna–Ranchi) will now terminate at Gaya.

Railways Appeal To Passengers

The railway administration has issued an appeal, urging passengers to check the latest status of their trains before starting their journey and to consider alternative arrangements if possible. Officials expressed regret for the inconvenience and have asked for the public's patience until normal services can be restored.
